"Fix Your Mama!" needs your yard sale donations

“Fix Your Mama!” Yard Sale September 24th at Alabama Spay/Neuter in Irondale

“Fix Your Mama!” will hold its 2nd annual yard sale on September 24th at Alabama Spay/Neuter in Irondale. We need your donation of items to sell! You can drop good used items off at theclinic’s lobby Monday-Thursday or call 681-0920 if you live in Blount County and can’t make it to the clinic. Friday, September 23rd we’ll be setting up for the sale and will need your help that day and again at  Saturday’s sale.  We’ll have access to bathrooms and vending machines and will be in the shade, so come join us!  We’ll manage to get a lot of visiting, networking and laughing done too. Last year’s sale was a big success because you came through for the animals.  Please help us again this year by donating your used items or by making a contribution by check.    Every penny will help spay a dog or cat and will save lives. The End “Fix Your Mama!” Will fix any female dog or cat in Blount County and give a rabies vaccination if needed at no charge. Since we began the program in July of 2010 we have fixed over 600 animals and have seen the intake/kill rate at theAnimal Adoption Center, the county’s shelter/pound, drop dramatically. Our goal is to make Blount County the first open admission no kill county shelter in Alabama. Last year Blount County killed 2,421 homeless animals, down from 2932 in 2009, and the numbers are continuing to go down this year as more people are fixing their animals. We have a long way to go but we know that it’s possible and  that it starts with spay/neuter.
